North Saanich

North Saanich is a semi-rural community located on the northern Saanich Peninsula, approximately 25 kilometers north of Victoria. The community is surrounded by ocean on three sides, and shoreline provides many spectacular views of the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island.

North Saanich itself is made up of a mix of  pastoral and residential areas. There are many farms here, as well as Victoria International Airport and the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal. Neighboring Sidney, BC offers shopping and entertaining, plus a ferry link to Washington State.

Traditionally the ocean has played a big part in the lives of local residents, and today there are more than a dozen marinas located in and around the municipality of North Saanich. For example Curteis Point is home to five marinas clustered around a small cove and inlet, as well as a vibrant boat building industry.

North Saanich includes a wide range of properties. The Dean Park neighbourhood, located on the eastern slope of Mount Newton overlooking Haro Strait and Mount Baker to the east, is a family favourite. There are schools close by, as well as the superbly-equipped Panorama Recreation Centre. Besides its wonderful pool and gigantic waterslide, Panorama is also home to hockey and lacrosse rinks.
